DECEMBER LESSONS IN LIVING

DECEMBER LESSONS IN LIVING

For many, the celebration of Christ’s birth on December 25th is the highest
point in their spiritual lives. And while there is nothing wrong with
learning and singing about the birth of our Lord, when we try to honor Him
by making up a date for His birth, invent religious rites regarding it, and
use all of this to replace worshipping Him according to His directions (such
as assembling with the saints and partaking of the Lord’s Supper on the
first day of the week), we become no different from the Jews that the Lord
condemned (Mark 7:9-14). Is it possible that the tradition of Christmas has
replaced the commands of Jesus in the lives of many religious people?
