(1 Samuel 7:3)
Samuel spoke to all the house of Israel, saying, "If you return to the LORD with all your hearts, then put away the foreign gods…from among you, and prepare your hearts for the LORD,
and serve Him only…He will deliver you from the hand of the Philistines."
PREPARE FOR TEMPTATION
Jesus was led up by the Spirit into the wilderness to be tempted by the devil.
(1 Corinthians 10:12-13)
Let him who thinks he stands take heed lest he fall. No temptation has overtaken you except such as is common to man; but God is faithful, who will not allow you to be
tempted beyond what you are able, but with the temptation will also make the way of escape, that you may be able to bear it.
PREPARE TO DEFEND THE TRUTH
(1 Peter 3:15)
Sanctify the Lord God in your hearts, and always be ready to give a defense to everyone who asks you a reason for the hope that is in you, with meekness and fear;
It is right for me to think this of you all, because I have you in my heart, inasmuch as both in my chains and in the defense and confirmation of the gospel, you all are
partakers with me of grace.
PREPARE TO DO GOOD WORKS
Remind them to be subject to rulers and authorities, to obey, to be ready for every good work,
We are His workmanship, created in Christ Jesus for good works, which God prepared beforehand that we should walk in them.
As we have opportunity, let us do good to all, especially to those who are of the household of faith.
PREPARE FOR CALAMITY
Whoever hears these sayings of Mine, and does them, I will liken him to a wise man who built his house on the rock: and the rain descended, the floods came, and the
winds blew and beat on that house; and it did not fall, for it was founded on the rock. But everyone who hears these sayings of Mine, and does not do them, will be like a
foolish man who built his house on the sand: and the rain descended, the floods came, and the winds blew and beat on that house; and it fell. And great was its fall.
We are more than conquerors through Him who loved us.
PREPARE FOR DEATH
It is appointed for men to die once, but after this the judgment,
Do not fear any of those things which you are about to suffer. Indeed, the devil is about to throw some of you into prison, that you may be tested, and you will have
tribulation ten days. Be faithful until death, and I will give you the crown of life.
PREPARE TO MEET GOD
(2 Corinthians 5:10)
We must all appear before the judgment seat of Christ, that each one may receive the things done in the body, according to what he has done, whether good or bad.
(1 Timothy 6:12)
Fight the good fight of faith, lay hold on eternal life, to which you were also called and have confessed the good confession in the presence of many witnesses.
Christ was offered once to bear the sins of many. To those who eagerly wait for Him
He will appear a second time, apart from sin, for salvation.
(1 John 2:25)
This is the promise that He has promised us--eternal life.
