FEBRUARY 2020 LESSONS IN LIVING

FEBRUARY 2020 LESSONS IN LIVING

WEEK ONE

From the infinite riches of His grace, God can care for our needs and as one once said, “He can satisfy the last aching abyss of the human soul.” His will is for us and thus we can always make supplication to Him. “Let us therefore come boldly to the throne of grace that we may obtain mercy and find grace to help us in time of need” (Hebrews 4:16).

WEEK TWO

Someone who was visiting a person in a hospital asked if they could do anything for them. The answer was “just a few kind words would be enough.” Perhaps in many cases that would be enough. The apostle Paul wrote: “Let all bitterness, wrath, anger, clamor, and evil speaking be put away from you, with all malice. And be kind to one another, tenderhearted, forgiving one another, just as God in Christ forgave you.” (Ephesians 4:31-32)

WEEK THREE

A we walk the religious way of life we may see to different paths to take, and there will always be those who will tell us to go this way or go that way. However, we should remember the words of our Lord: “Enter by the narrow gate; for wide is the gate and broad is the way that leads to destruction, and there are many who go in by it. Because narrow is the gate and difficult is the way which leads to life, and there are few who find it.” (Matthew 7:13-14)

WEEK FOUR

Jesus took time to pray when He was very busy (Luke 5:15-16; Mt. 14:23). He also taught His apostles the need to get away from the arduous demands of their work for rest and prayer (Mark 6:30-32; Luke 9:10). How often do we succumb to the stress of life and even face burnout because we do not take time to get away from it all to rest and pray?
