APRIL 2020 LESSONS IN LIVING

APRIL 2020 LESSONS IN LIVING

WEEK ONE

There is no greater wisdom available to us than the wisdom of God’s will. One of the worst tragedies of human experience is the dismissal of His wisdom as being foolishness “For the message of the cross is foolishness to those who are perishing, but to us who are being saved it is the power of God” (1 Corinthians 1:18). As the wise man said: “The fear of the LORD is the beginning of wisdom, And the knowledge of the Holy One is understanding” (Proverbs 9:10).

WEEK TWO

The simple message of God’s word is offensive to many religious people today, just as it was to those long ago when Jeremiah wrote: “To whom can I speak and give warning? Who will listen to me? Their ears are closed so they cannot hear. The word of the LORD is offensive to them; they find no pleasure in it.” (Jeremiah 6:10). However, despite what some think, the word of Christ is still “the power of God to salvation for everyone who believes, for the Jew first and also for the Greek.” (Romans 1:16).

WEEK THREE

The Bible reveals the will of God for us. It contains words to guide each one to righteousness. “All Scripture is given by inspiration of God, and is profitable for doctrine, for reproof, for correction, for instruction in righteousness, that the man of God may be complete, thoroughly equipped for every good work” (2 Timothy 3:16). What we need to do is study and apply it so that we can approved of God (2 Timothy 2:15).

WEEK FOUR

In Psalms 1:1-2, the person who is blessed is one who delights “in the law of the LORD, and on his law, he meditates day and night.” Meditation and contemplation of God’s law will cause one to admire its beauty and make application; thus, indulging in the real enjoyment of thinking about God.
