MARCH 2020 LESSONS IN LIVING
WEEK ONE
To seek worldly ends without looking to God is to doom ourselves to eventual failure. And, the reason is simple. If we work at cross purposes with the Creator, we fight against reality and no can do that and win in the end. “There is no wisdom or understanding or counsel against the Lord.” (Proverbs 21:30
WEEK TWO
It is amazing that when people experience the best of times, great blessings and economic growth, many often do not find time for God. How many people, during such times, get so caught up in the matters of the day that there is no time left for prayer or reading and studying the scriptures? Are we too busy for God?
WEEK THREE
We always need God every day and we should always desire to be close to Him. We do not need Him any less when things are going well than when they are not. Each day we must remember that “in Him we live and move and have our being…for we are also His offspring.” (Acts 17:28). We need Him every instant!
WEEK FOUR
Within the limits of their rightful use, the temporal things of God’s creation are for our enjoyment and are gratifying. Solomon said, “Here is what I have seen to be good and fitting: to eat, to drink and enjoy oneself in all one’s labor in which he toils under the sun during the few years of his life which God has given him; for this is his reward.” (Ecclesiastes 5:18) However, we must be aware that the temporal things of this life will cease but that which is eternal will last forever. As Paul said, “we look not at the things which are seen, but at the things which are not seen; for the things which are seen are temporal, but the things which are not seen are eternal.” (2 Corinthians 4:18).
WEEK FIVE
Despite the fact that some religious people speak as if the so-called prophets of Mohamed or Buddha can lead one to God, Jesus said, “I am the way, and the truth, and the life; no one comes to the Father but through Me.” (John 14:6). There is no other access to God. He is it!
