Jesus defined love for us in Mt. 22:34-40. It would be hard to overstate the importance of having love as our motive in dealing with God and with others. In language that is almost astonishing, the apostle Paul wrote: “And though I bestow all my goods to feed the poor, and though I give my body to be burned, but have not love, it profits me nothing”  (1 Corinthians 13:3). Such is the radical necessary of love.
