December 2019 Lessons in Living

December 2019 Lessons in Living

WEEK ONE

In the divine scheme of things, the Christian’s life upon this earth is likened to a sower going forth to disseminate seed. When judgment day comes all the seeds sown will have been harvested which will determine our eternal destiny. As the apostle Paul declared: “Do not be deceived, God is not mocked; for whatever a man sows, this he will also reap. For the one who sows to his own flesh will from the flesh reap corruption, but the one who sows to the Spirit will from the Spirit reap eternal life.”  (Galatians 6:7-8).

WEEK TWO

We must always be aware that all of us are sowing seeds in this life now. And, every one of us will reap at the judgment when God “WILL RENDER TO EACH PERSON ACCORDING TO HIS DEEDS: to those who by perseverance in doing good seek for glory and honor and immortality, eternal life; but to those who are selfishly ambitious and do not obey the truth, but obey unrighteousness, wrath and indignation. There will be tribulation and distress for every soul of man who does evil, of the Jew first and also of the Greek,” (Romans 2:7).

WEEK THREE

At times we may begin to think that we are too busy to do the things that we need to do. It is during those times that we must remember that none of us is too busy for death and the judgment. The apostle Paul declared: “It is appointed for men to die once, but after this the judgment,” (Hebrews 9:27) We need to be spiritually prepared for that event.

WEEK FOUR

A Christian’s work in the Lord will always prove positive. Remember the promise of the beloved apostle: “My beloved brethren, be steadfast, immovable, always abounding in the work of the Lord, knowing that your labor is not in vain in the Lord. (1 Corinthians 15:58). So, we keep busy doing the Lord’s will as scripture states:  “I have fought the good fight, I have finished the race, I have kept the faith. Finally, there is laid up for me the crown of righteousness, which the Lord, the righteous Judge, will give to me on that Day, and not to me only but also to all who have loved His appearing.” (2 Timothy 4:7-8)
